Games at Birthday Parties
Games are vital to any kids’ birthday party and getting the right mix
of games can be pretty complicated at times. Party games do not need to
be complex in nature and the simpler it is, the smoother they will
function. An important aspect to remember is that everyone should be
made to feel involved in the games. Here is a list of games which can be
played at kids’ birthday parties.
 Guessing Games Have your
guest guess what an object is just by touching it or blindfold your
guests and let them touch mucky items like pasta, baked beans etc and
have them guess what it is. Question and Answer Games
Ask your guests to write a question and the names of their favourite
songs on two separate pieces of paper and then deposit them in two
different bowls. The birthday child then proceeds to pick out a paper
from the question bowl and read it. Once this is done, the child reads
out the answer, which is picked up from the other bowl and happens to be
the names of the various guests’ favourite songs. The effect can be
comical and the kids end up having a good laugh about it.

Sack Races
Get the children to get into sacks up to the waist and then have them
racing to a finish line. This can be made more interesting by putting
slight obstacles in front along the course.
Three-legged Races
Tie one leg of a child to the leg of a partner and make them race to the
finish line. The children should not walk to the finish line.
Egg Tossing
Get the children to stand in pairs and then give one egg to each pair.
They start of by standing at a distance of one metre from each other and
throw the egg to their respective partners. As each child takes a catch,
they take one step backwards and soon come to a point when the egg
breaks. The pair that is standing the farthest apart from each other,
when their egg breaks, is the one that wins.
Egg and Spoon Race
Each child is given a hard boiled egg and a tablespoon. They have to
balance the egg on the spoon and run to the finish line. In case a
participant drops their egg, they need to go back to the start line and
start all over again.
Water Balloons-targets should be set up for the kids to aim at. The
closer the kids stand to their object, the more drenched they will get.
This gives the kids will love this additional excitement of getting wet.
Throwing games Every kid should be given a common object and
asked to throw it. The winner is the one who throws the furthest. The
trick here is that the chosen object should be awkward to throw.

Water Fight
This is one of the traditional favourites in western countries. Provide
every kid with a water pistol and let them have a free for all with each
other.
